Simbu as Gurumurthi the tough college student in love with Ramya, the daughter of a dreaded Don gives a wonderful performance. Ramya sizzles in the song sequences. Srikant Deva’s music is yet another highlight of the film. Karunas comedy is a rib tickler.
Simbu and Ramya are college mates. Ramya’s father is Kalabhavan Mani a don. One of the don’s henchmen who see Simbu dancing with Ramya on stage gets angry since the duo do very sensuous movements. Simbu is threatened by the gangster. This angers Simbu who then decides to seriously woo Ramya. Soon Ramya falls for Simbu. Mani comes to know of this and he sends out gangsters to threaten Simbu’s parents. Simbu gets more determined to marry Ramya. Marrying Ramya and outfoxing the gangs of Mani forms the climax.
Simbu excels in the action and romantic roles and does it with full gusto. Ramya the debutant is totally at ease in the homely role yet she looks stunning and sensuous in the song sequences. Venkatesh cinematography is above average. “Nibuna Nibuna” and “Sapida vaada” are the two songs by Srikant Deva which is very catchy. Karunas as the uncle of Simbu and college mate does the comic role with great ease and provides laughter in plenty. |
