Compression....Shocked!!!

Actually i have downloaded a file couple of days back and i couldn't remeber the site

The file size is 1.40MB and which consists of Windows Longhorn DVD .....

The file size has been compressed a lot from around 1.1GB to 1.40MB..

Is it possible to do that ???
If Possible HOW TO DO.
PLZ HELP ME.

I downloaded once a 5MB RAR file and turned out to be a 200MB AVI file. I asked my brother about it and e says it is possible but you need to do something in which 'im sorry' i forgot. =) Will ask him tomorrow and will let you know.

i don't think u can compress something around 200mb into 5mb rar file. because avi files are mostly images not text. that makes it hard to compress. if it was a text file, then that might be possible. but i might be wrong since i never really got into these compression stuff

I compressed 480 MB into 260 MB Zip File.

Thats pretty much all that I choped up.

you cant compress 1.1 gb in 1.4 mb mann..that will be ridiculous...you can go upto reducing 200 mb..i dont think more is possible..what do you think?

It was Age of Empires II Games.

Even with about 3 MB of files it will compress it and make the size about 1.3 MB makes the world seem nicer.

I use Winzip 9

compressing 1.1gig to 1.4 mb is impossible !!!
i suspect that the file is corrupted and you downloaded only a small chunk of the file you wanted.
there is no other alternative mate. just tune your brain into remembering the site once again.

I agree that 1.4 MB to 1.1 GB is really a shock, but I really downloaded a 5MB file at deviantart.com and when I extracted it, ti became 200MB. I already deleted it since its not a good video tutorial. I can try and find it again so you guys can see it for yourself =)

1:40 thats kinda believable but
1.4mb: 1.1gb is
1:804.57142857142857142857142857143 ( to be exact )
and i think that such a compression is highly unlikely.

It is a rar and rar does chop off alot of space.
Avi's are flexable Files can make them small and huge.
You can also play them on Winamp and Real Player.

The movie has no Sound It is long and very choppy.

Youd can't do 1.4 MB into 1.1 GB if you already seen 6.4 MB into 200 MB.

The smaller your size the smaller the compressed file has to be.

I can see where the math is though.
He most of compressed 40X (40 Times)
40x6x.4 or simpler 240 / 40 with a remainder of some .3298 or something.
