Pitbulls are horrible dogs.
Many people are seriosly injured or killed when attacked by pitbulls.

| I don't think so, pitbulls(this includes practicaly all dogs) are usualy only aggressive if they are tought to be, or are in a position in which they must defend themselves. At least, that's my experiance with them. Though, I'm sure there are pitbulls out there that are just plain mean. |

| It also applies to children. If you're mean to them, they'll grow up mean. |

I've personally been attacked by one, and I do not believe they should. It's all in the way that the animal is raised, and some people are just not suitable to own pets.
I also think it's kind of inhumane to get rid of a whole kind of animal, for any reason. |

I guess people should have a right to own pit bulls as pets. However, those same owners should be held liable for their pets actions.
If a pit bull attacks someone, the owner needs to pay whatever fines are issued. If a pit bull kills a person, the owner should be put in prison and fined financially.
If these fines seem to harsh, one shouldn't own such a dog. |

Ban the deed not the breed. Purebred dogs owned by responsible dog owners are seldom agressive (unlewss their owners want them to be) in that case ban the owners.
A properly socialised dog is gentle and considerate and sees all humans as alpha. |

More people were seriosly injured by german shepards, dobermans or mastifs than by pitbulls, but none got an idea to forbid breeding those dogs. Don't forget abandoned dogs, they are somethimes wery dangerous, too. |

this could go both ways. It is a matter of the breed if there is poor bloodlines. If there are good bloodlines then yes it CAN be a good dog in teh right hands.
I owned 2 rotties both of whim were adopted from shelters. They were good dogs and I trusted them 90% of the time. Since I didnt know their bloodlines I could not trust them 100% they were very good dogs. And for them to have been adopted out by the shelters proves they were good dogs. Shelters around here will not adopt out any breed of dog if any type of aggression has been showed. |

| A pitbull is actually not a bad dog. People get pit bulls thinking that they are a tough dog, and then use them for perverted things like dogfights. The dogs don't do well, hence they are abused, and they become hardened. Its the reputation that takes a toll on the dogs themselves. |

i am scared of animals attacking me, especially ones that could tear my head off.
in the case of pitbulls, goodluck fighting animal protection groups about that. i blame the irresponsible owners about their pets going mad. they should not keep those vicious animals as they are not fit to take care of one. |
