Is it possible to make a forum invisible to search engines, spammers, and anyone else who wasn't specifically given the URL? I recall seeing a post that kindly suggested blocking a half dozen or so domain names but haven't been able to find it again. We're a small and private group, participation is by invitation only and we don't want to draw attention or have our little corner nook found.
It's not that we have anything to hide, just that we value our privacy. |

I think that's impossible... If you're a "Private Group". You could limit the access of Guest Users among your forum... |

Difficult, maybe but impossible?
I'm just not sure it can be done where a forum is publicly hosted. If it resided on a private server, it might be a bit easier to do, but I'm not 100% certain of that either.
So, it's a challenge question. How can it be done? |

Heh, I'm slowly getting the hint. Proudly wearing the newbie patch on my sleeve, at the moment I don't understand how limiting guest users works. Our little forum has a password/logon structure - if I don't login, I appear as a guest on the page.
I'll dig around the support and tech sections, but if you're willing to enlighten me? |

If hosted on private server ur forum will be invisible till u give the address
Also it'll be away from serach engines
on bizhat almost every user is monitored by google for indexing
but that'll not be the case in case of private server
disable the guest access is a good option which will direct the guest to only login paeg and nothing else |
