you hav to learn basic Html first, then you can design your website your own way. for reference there is a lot of free web templates available one net. search for free html web templates.

html is the fundamental thing for web design.
even though most professionals also use templates and softwares to design webpages.
they cannot implement to the perfection without knowing html.
it's an easy language so i think it's a must for every one.
