| recently (actually not recently) we noticed that Bizhat admins created a support forum to not support people .... they mostly ignore people and thier problem which might and certainly will decrease the traffic on the forum, and then to the website which will degrade their popularity and their fame either very rapidly |

For $6.95 per month you can get hosting and all the forums you want from lunarpages.com. Great support and total control. |

I've been waiting for almost 3 months for some support. I've already paid for hosting elsewhere and have a forum set up and in the process of transferring the content I have. I wanted an ad free forum and tried to do it on line, and couldn't. I sent you emails and posted here in this forum. got no answers. I now have a forum that I have total control of and have so many more features it's awe inspiring.
The spam problem here is so bad it's impossible to keep up with it. Your solution does nothing to help as they post it in their profiles, which show up before the account is activated. On my board it doesn't look very good to have hundreds of links to porno and drug sites in profiles. I can't tolerate it and can't keep up with it without taking all of my time and neglecting my content.
My avatars don't work and people who sign up want to post links and email addresses.
All in all, It seems like the people running the show here just aren't that interested in support issues. several emails that I sent wanting to pay for an ad free site and other issues were never answered. I already have a web site and pay for hosting, so I found a hosting package that includes discussion boards and am moving my web sites and board and even adding new boards for other issues. Now when I download a new theme I can use my banner image with it, something I couldn't do here. And support even answers their emails and even has a phone number. |

I've had a topic of mine moved without even so much as a PM to tell me why or an explanation as to the question I originally asked. I only asked for help regarding banner trouble. God forbid I should ask support for help when I need it.
Extremely poor if you ask me. I would move to another service but I don't trust these guys to backup my forum for me if I paid them. I have 1000s of members and posts I don't really want to lose so for now it looks like I'm stuck with them.
Well, I guess we all make stupid mistakes in life. |

This dudes are totally right, yeah, totally right.
There is no solution for the spammers problem. To ban one per one is a rude sacrified work, almost impossible for me and for everyone.
Maybe Bizhat allows that spammers to do what they want, maybe they call them to do that dirty work for their benefit, but I don't know... Why Bizhat allows this, then?
The mods replyed me a message after 2 months... I don't know why too.
Maybe the answer is to get away from this service. It's a shame, really, this is a very good option for a free service, but if the mods don't say anything about this problems we don't have another choice.
Sorry. |

There is a solution. They are posting their profiles in order to get search engine listings for their sites. They are using a bot program from the site botmaster.net.
If profiles were not set up until the accounts were approved, we could just select admin approval for all members and weed them out before they join. This would discourage them and put botmaster out of business.
Bizhat's solution was that 5 day 5 post before posting links, which irritates new members. The response from the spammers was to just post their links in their profiles, which are added to the boards member list before approval. These are still picked up by the search engines. Search engine rankings are partly determined by the number of links to your site from other sites.
Try to google any one of the links in these profiles and you will see what I am talking about. Some have hundreds and even thousands of listings in profiles on boards and blogs. These links give their sites good page rankings on the search engines.
Another solution would be for the search engines to ignore the profile pages on boards and blogs. This would also make searching a lot easier. I've noticed the past couple of months that a google search brings back a lot of profiles and needless crap posted for rankings.
Yes Virginia, there is a solution. |
