Ishant penalised 15 percent of match fee

SYDNEY: India's young fast bowler Ishant Sharma was penalised 15 percent of his match fee for being involved in an on-field altercation with Australian all-rounder Andrew Symonds during the 10th one-day international of the Commonwealth Bank tri-series here Sunday.

Match Referee Jeff Crowe summoned Sharma for exchanging heated words with Symonds and showing the batsmen the way to the pavilion after dismissing him Sunday. But Symonds, who initiated the altercation before Sharma responded, went scot-free once again.

Crowe penalised Ishant Monday after a hearing. The 19-year-old Indian was charged of breaching Level 1.6 of the International Cricket Council's (ICC) Code of Conduct. The incident occurred after Sharma foxed Symonds, who made a quick fire 59, with a slower delivery in the 48th over.

Television replays clearly showed that it was Symonds who let loose a verbal attack on young Ishant before the fast-bowler retaliated with the show-off gesture.

It was at the same venue that Symonds, in the ill-tempered second Test of the current tour, alleged that Harbhajan Singh had hurled racist abuse at him, calling him a monkey, which kicked off a storm that threatened to derail the series.

I think all match referre appointed by ICC are biost and they mostly dislike the Indians I don't know the reasons behind this. Doing the same crime one getting punished and other is released.
Ishant is the latest victim.
