Padmarajan film festival begins

TRIPUNITHURA: The scripts written by director Padmarajan visualise the inner emotions of the characters, said script writer Macartin, after inaugurating the Padmarajan Film Festival at Padmarajan Nagar (Layam ground) on Monday.

“It was nothing but a pilgrimage through Padmarajan’s script Koodevide that inspired me to script-writing, Macartin said. Though I cherish a dream to write and direct a film like Thinkalazhcha Nalla Divasam, I am sure that it is impossible for me to narrate the inner emotions of characters in tune with nature, the way Padmarajan did in this film�, Macartin said.

K Babu MLA presided over the function and municipal chairperson Ranjini Suresh spoke on the occasion. Monsoon Film Festival director Ravindran welcomed the gathering. Koodevide, a Padmarajan film, was screened.

Selected Padmarajan films will be screened at the festival. The film festival is being organised by the Elias Foundation. A workshop on Padmarajan films will begin on April 1 at the PWD Guest House at which 20 selected participants will attend.

Selected films like Thinkalazcha Nalla Divasam, Peruvazhiyambalam, Oridathoru Fayalman will be screened in the workshop. Detailed discussions on these films will also be held under the guidance of well known film personalities.
