website loading

I am new in some domains. For instance, when I load some websites, I can see "loading" on my screen. Somebody told me that the website is using FLASH. does anybody have some experience and can tell me how to do? As I haven't found anything on this forum, can anybody tell me if someting exists about this subject?

Thanks very much. I was not aware of such software. I will now spend some time to look at that. It is the first time somebody tells me about preloaders. This is a very usefull forum. Again thanks very much.
