Bhoot, the much talked about film directed by Ram Gopal Varma, has Nitin Manmohan as producer. Ramu seemed to have been in bad company when Boney Kapoor was shelling out money for his underworld flick Company. It might have been the willies given by Boney that made Ramu opt for a new captain in the form of Nitin Manmohan.
The film as the name suggests is a supernatural thriller set in Mumbai city. Vishal (Ajay Devgan), a stock analyst, is in search of a flat in Mumbai for him and his wife Swati (Urmila Matondkar) to move in. He finds a place he likes on the 12th floor of an apartment building.
However, the flat turns out to be seeped in mystery. The previous occupant, a young woman, had plunged to her death from the balcony. But Vishal doesn’t believe in superstitions and pays no attention to this story. He takes the flat. Vishal was so unconcerned about the mystery that he fails to mention this to his wife. Eventually, Swati finds out about the young woman``s death. She becomes nervous and starts losing sleep over it. She starts seeing things and becomes distressed.
Vishal thinks it is a psychological problem but after a while even he finds it inexplicable. He becomes helpless in the struggle to save Swati. The film delves into the unknown to see what Vishal discovers when he tries to find the truth. |
