Using FTP - (if you are new to FTP)

Hi there !

Maybe you can help me out folks...

I can not rename or delete my files
in FlashFXP. In Windows I can only
delete. In Windows, I can change the
CHMOD, but it has no effect. In FlashFXP,
I don't even get my CHMOD screen!

what i want to do is add smilies and rank images to my forum which is remotly hosted by netfreehost.com im using cute FTP buthwne i try to connect it keeps sayign password is wrong.

when i run throught the connection wizard i enter the following:

the name of the connection
sleepless.netfreehost.com as the host address
the username Danielh
and the password
i leave the default remote folder blank

when it tried to connect it come up with the following:

COMMAND:> PASS *****
530 Authentication failed, sorry
ERROR:> Not logged in.

can someone help me pls

i deleted cute FTP because it didnt work that well......also the windowsXP ftp is alrite too~ copy/paste ..i agree
ppl told me to use smartFTP cuz its good so im gonna try that out later Smile

Hey Wim!

I also use FlashFXP but I'm able to rename files and folders as well as change cmod. You need to right click on the file you want to change either on your computer or on your server, and a window will appear. Then choose what you want to do.
I hope, it helps. Give it another try, I find this FTP client the most useful so far.
