Question about allowing people...

Is there a way to let some registered people see certain forums, and other registered people see others? I'm trying to use the ranks system to do it, but it doesn't seem to have that capability.

Basically, I'm trying to limit how much certain members can see...

I think that would have to do with passworded forums or groups. At least thats what I do.

this is what groups and permissions is for.

I'm trying that, but not having much luck. I go into the permissions section, bring up a user, but I can't edit that table thing that should allow me to block what they have access to.

Check the configuration of the forums also. I haven't set up restricted areas, but I think you have to designate the forum as restricted, also.
