Default Format your polished resume for the Internet.

How many times have you been disappointed how your brilliantly formatted resume looks once submitted online? If you are like many jobseekers, you probably find this very frustrating, especially if you have purchased a professional resume writing service.

Follow the steps below to correctly format your resume for the internet.

Formatting Steps:

Set your left and right margins to 1 inch. Using margins less then 1 inch will produce undesirable line breaks.

Highlight your resume in its entirety and change the text format to "Courier" and select 12-point font size. This will prevent unsightly line wraps.

In the top left hand corner of Word, select "File" From the File Menu, select "Save As"

Make sure you select "Text Only" from the drop down menu reading "Save as type."

If desired, you may rename the actual file name.
Click "SAVE"

Additional Suggestions:

In most cases, once your document is converted, you will not need to replace bullets. However, if this is not the case, replace all bullets with a + or -.
Space sections and category headings by using a string of characters. E.g. ====, ~~~~, ****, etc.
