Hello people,

I'm new to this forum thing.

THe US will attack Iran even though the US forces are over stretched as it is with other wars and again, against the views of europe.

The reason is this: When I was at university I use to write for a student political magazine. On one artical I was researching, I came across a report of a document that was writen by the now president Bush adminstration. THe document was titled, 'How to build the American Empire'. (well something like that), writen in 1999.

It was basically a list of objectives.
First it stating intensions to rid Sadam, then invade Iran.

In short, to capture or control the oil producing countries in the middle east.

Well, thats my point of view

At the present stage it will be possible for US to attack any place in the globe because of their war capabaliteis - aircaraft carriers like Nimitz, advanced fighters, laser guided bombs and the ultimate nuclear bombs.

But the country - Iran - has also developed Ballistic misssiles of long ranges and they have maintained defence forces and well equipped with modern weapons of warfare. So, If war occurs it will cause damage to both sides at a large scale.

hi everybody , I AM IRANIAN , and i really dont know why it is so important for the guys like you , that the war takes place or not , as a matter of fact , both governments are killing their youthes , the sources to build a new community , why ? just for fun , or spreading their new empire ?
i say (and believe this ) that in the war between iran and america , the one which takes more dammage outta this war is undoubtedly america ...
cause , iran doesnt have anything to loose , again , we have the countries like the Russia , and even china , that tends to be the big brother in the world , if america got a prob they can flourish quickly , ...

the history proved hat no country will remain in the peak of the power ...they all will be perish ...
as Persia did , as Rom did , as the Egypt did , as ....

The USA is in tens of trillions of dollars of debt, in fact every dollar made is loaned to the government from the central bank (at interest), so it is impossible to get out of debt. Therefore i feel that the financial question is a non-issue. Also, the rhetoric from the news is indicative that the powers that be would love to take military action against Iran. That's why i voted "yes".

With the new National Intelligence Estimate out, I belive that this possibility has been removed from the table.

Yes, I believe that a possible confrontation with Iran was very possible in the last days of the Bush presidency. The temptation was always there, to put it bluntly, to "go out with a bang".

However, the legitimacy for support for such an option has completely dissapated with this report from America's top spy agencies.
