ubuntu is just fantastic. You can order a Free CD online and they will ship it to you free of cost. It can be used on servers, desktops and even laptops.

Anyone got Free Ubentu CD ?

I have signed up and filled the form some one month back. But never got any CD so far. May be it take more time.

Yes it does take some time. I recieved the CD thanks to Ubuntu but I guess it did take more then a month. Maybe they are batch proccessing or something.

for me also they send 10 cds......

but it took a month after i registered.....

any one install that os... how its work...
but i dint used that.......

mazza, it is LIVE CD, that is you just put the CD in drive, make it first boot device then reboot. Your computer will now boot from Ubentu. In new version of ubentu, after booting, you can install the OS by clicking install icon in desktop.

I have one CD, but it got some problem with my display card, not able to boot with it.

Anyway i am not planing to use ubentu on my pc. I mainly use FreeBSD for testing and have a Fedora Core 3 installation that i rarely use.

I ordered 20 Ubuntu and Kubuntu cds a while back. Got them last week, and I'm happily running it on my laptop

any body know how to use motorola sm56 dial up modem in ubuntu

how can i configure my modem(internal) to connect to net..
May be if anyone knows plz help me..
it has detected my modem,,but i cant configure it,,

i am using motorola sm56 it didnt even detect in ubuntu. if ur modem is detected u can configure it using sudo pppconfig

I have got two cds from ubuntu. But surely it takes more than a month to get the free cd's.
I havent used the os yet.
