| I was looking for something for free. I know, nothing is for free. I thought I read somewhere that CuteFTP was free. Was it once and not now or did I missread something. Are there any free ones? What would be the best deal? |

| I am using Macromedia Dreamweaver MX to create my site. This is all very new to me. I also have SmartFTP. I wanted to try to upload what I have so that there is one page on my site. I followed the directions on the first page of this post but must have entered something wrong. When I attempt to click on the "connect to remote host" to change it I can't, it just tries to connect. So, how can I get in there to change my information and hopefully do it correctly? |

| Diet wrote: | Uploading you Site using Dreamweaver MX
Click the "connect to remote host" icon and A new window will appear
Click the Advanced tab in Site Definition dialog box
From the category menu select Remote Info
From the Access dropdown menu select FTP
Fill out the information exactally as it is below with the exception of username (user your own)
Click OK
You should now have a connection to your server
Back at the main screen click "connect to remote host" to establish a connection
From the dropdown menu select Remote View
If you see you server your OK
Lastly, to upload files:
Go back to Local View
Select the files you want to upload
Click the upload icon[/img] | my ftp upload through dreamweaver doesn't work probley since my brother got it in 2004 |
