European Union Film Festival begins

KOZHIKODE: The 13th edition of the European Union Film Festival began at the Tagore hall here yesterday.

Mayor M Bhaskaran inaugurated the week-long festival.

Organised jointly by the Kerala Chalachithra Akademi, the City Corporation and the Department of Information and Public Relations, the festival would offer a host of films from Poland, Netherlands, Finland, Slovenia, France, Hungary and Germany.

`Short Circuit' (Poland), `FC Venus' (Finland), `On the Other Side of the Bridge' (Austria), `Waiter' (Netherlands), `Ella' (Germany), ~ I am' (Poland) and `Last of the High Kings' (Ireland) are among the movies to be screened.

A seminar on `Unity from a Cultural Perspective' will be held on Sunday as part of the festival.
