Review - Manasinakkarae
For some time now, the film had been making a huge noise as the comeback vehicle of the screen-queen of yesteryears, Sheela. And, true to its claims, she gets more limelight than the hero and heroine of the film themselves.
The Story
Kochu Thresia is an old rich woman who has everything but no one to love her and care for her. Her neighbors are the poor Reji and his father Chacko Mappila. Reji and his father are those simple folks who are ready to help others if they can. Thersia slowly begins to bond with Reji, drawn to him by his simplicity. She even begins to help the family solve their own problems.
In the end, she does something dramatic. If you could think ahead, you might even guess what it is. The Director- Sathyan Andhikat
The Cast
Sheela (Kochu Thersia), Jayaram (Reji), Innocent (Chacko Mappila), KPAC Lalitha, Siddhique and others.
Music
Ilayaraaja
The Good
The role suits Sheela perfectly. She couldn't have chosen a better role for her comeback. Equal importance has also been given to Jayaram.
The Bad
Somehow, the story is very predictable.
The Ugly
When you look into Sheela's eyes, you don't see the lonesomeness or the helplessness of an old woman. |
