This is Thangar Bachan's third movie. Bringing out his own feelings of dedication towards the Tamil language; he has given a story about a writer-X, who is angry with his native Tamil land. Thendral is a movie expressing this writers feelings. The character was coined, keeping Vikram in mind, but he cannot give a literary performance.

'Kovil'
It's a fresh teaming of Silambarasan and Sonia Agarwal in 'Kovil'. Directed by Hari ('Thamizh', 'Samy') the film is produced by A M Ratnam for Surya Movies. It centres round a Hindu youth and a Christian girl and the bonding that develops between them. The hero, hailing from a village, studies in a college in the city. Most of the film was shot in areas in and around Nagercoil. Rajkiran plays the father of the hero (Silambarasan), while Nasser and Rekha play the heroine's (Sonia Agarwal) parents.

Kadhal Kirukkan
Partibhan's latest film 'Kadhal Kirukkan' has him paired with Richa Palod. Scripted and directed by Shakti Chidambaram, the film is produced by Variety Frames. The supporting cast includes Vinit, Vadivelu, Shriman, Manobala, Lakshmirathan, Rajasekhar, Raj Kapoor, Thalaivasal Vijay, Uday Prakash, Durai Pandian, Deva Darshini and Keerthana.

Devathayai Kanden
This was one of the earlier films Dhanush signed post-Thulluvatho Ilamai, for the banner 'Roja Combine's. Since then, the title and the heroine have gone through a couple of changes. Earlier, it was titled 'Ennai Mattum Kadhal Pannu', then it was changed to 'Kadhal Sughamanathu' and now, when the shooting has started, it is called 'Devathayai Kanden' (taken from the popular song of Dhanush-starrer 'Kadhal Konden').

'Ennavo Pudichirukku'
Sudeep, who played Sonia's lover in 'Kadhal Konden', has signed a couple of films, one of them being 'Ennavo Pudichirukku', the title taken from the lyrics of the popular song from 'Samy'. Paired with Sudeep is Sinduri, who had played a role in Shanker's 'Boys' and is one of the lead actresses in the Mumtaz, Kalabhavan Mani-starrer, 'Thathi Thaavuthu Manasu'.

Rathi teams up with two new faces, Ashwin and Yogan, for the film 'Anbe Un Vasam'. Directed by R Balu, who had earlier directed 'Kaalamellam Kadhal Vaazhga' and 'Unnudan', the film is produced by Azhagan Thamizhmani who has produced 'Anbulla Rajinikant', 'Dharmapathini', and 'Solaikkuyil'. After shifting to the small-screen and producing serials like 'Mangai', Thamizhmani returns to the big screen.

The film is reportedly based on Hollywood films like 'Big'. It has music by A R Rehman. An eight-year-old boy is turned into a 25-year-old youth by a scientist who does an experiment on the boy. While the boy grows physically, his mind remains that of a ten-year old.

And finally he has ventured into a Tamil film Suvadugal. For a debutant to the tinsel town he has taken charge of quite a few departments. He is the hero-producer, director, cinematographer and costume designer apart from dubbing his own voice.

'UPPU'
Roja takes a break from her glamour roles, and goes for a change of image in an off-beat film titled 'UPPU', where she plays the title role. Directing the film is R. Selvaraj, who's penned the story-dialogue for about 140 films from 'Annakili to 'Eera Nilam'. Centering round the lives of coporation workers, particularly of Pensilamma a sweeper, it depicts the trials and tribulations undergone by them.
