Default Email list building do's and don'ts.

    Hey everybody,

I've recently begun building an opt-in email list for a pretty specific purpose (sending out a sample high paying keyword daily).

Would it be considered "bad etiquette" to add an advertisement below the sample in each email, or is that an acceptable practice?

As long as your keyword sample get better prominence than the ad - by way of position or background color contrast or any other means - I feel it would be OK to have an AD.

I would feel less bad when people say "Today's sponsor of the newsletter" instead of "Today's ad." Also, it might be a nicer idea to select a sponsor who is related the keyword. That would improve clickthroughs, since you have just aroused the reader with a related keyword!

    regards,
