    My friend has been talking about this and Im not really sure what it is. Can some explain it to me what its used for?

    MySQL is a programming-language to drive databases.....with some simple commands like "SELECT", "WHERE.....IS" and "FROM"...you can maintain databases, search for info and if, for example, you have a login system with users who give information, make blogs etc. with this language your can search through a sql-database containing these variables...
