Shruti Haasan, the stunning daughter of actor Kamal Haasan, is presently involved inthe final stages of shooting of ‘Ezhaam Arivu’, her debut film as heroine in Tamil. The film, directed by star-director A.R. Murugadoss, pits Shruti opposite the versatile Suriya, who has put in another awesome performance in the film as a circus artiste.

Shruti had debuted as heroine in Bollywood more than an year back with ‘Luck’ which didn’t have any element of luck as it nose-dived at the box-office. The same box-office prospect repeated itself when Shruti debuted as heroine in Tollywood last year. Unfazed by the twin failure, Shruti is presently starring in another Telugu film.

Another Hindi film in which she had played a ‘guest role’, which released in January, failed to make any impact at the box-office. This has apparently put paid to Shruti’s hopes of making it big in Bollywood. The actress, who can sing and write songsbesides her ability to compose music, has apparently decided to concentrate in Tamil and Telugu movies for the time being.

Shruti had been staying in Mumbai with Sarika, her mother, who had separated from Kamal Haasan many years back. Shruti has now made Chennai her home after packingoff from Mumbai. Meanwhile, Akshara Haasan, Shruti’s younger sibling, has now moved to Mumbai to stay with mother Sarika and try out her luck in Hindi films!

Looking beyond the present, Shruti has already started training hard for her role as a kuchipudi danser in her upcoming Tamil film 'O My Friend'.
