Even before two weeks to close the online application process of Kerala Professional Course Entrance Examination 2012, the number of completed applications rose to 64,000 while the total registration stands at 92,000, according to official sources. Last year the total number of applicants was nearly 1,30,000.

At the same time, the online registration process of CUSAT again fell into troubles after a day's high speed working. Yesternight it was working smoothly and when checked the status of an application, soon came the webpage showing the status. But today after 4pm it went down again. When contacted the Director of IRAA at Cusat Dr. Sunil K Narayanankutty told Mathrubhumi Education that the total registration has gone upto 24,000 while the number of those completed the online process shows no change. It stands still at 7,000 including the online payment segment. The server problem is still there and we have to find out a solution at the earliest. We cannot test the patience of applicants and their parents, he told.

Cusat used to get more than 35,000 applications for the CAT every year, though the total number of seats at Thrikkakkara and Pulinkunnu Campuses is around 1,500. If the applications are low it will affect the revenue of the university. The technical expert who has been doing the troubleshooting at the university IRAA wing will work tonight too. If no solution is found the authorities will be forced to find out another method to bring the admission process to track.
