    Default DOWRY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What do men feel about dowry?

What do women feel about dowry?

I'm a man (yes, ladies, lol) and I'll give my answer.

I really never understood the concept of the dowry in the first place. When the wife is staying in the husband's house, why does the bride's parents have to pay dowry?

Second, isn't dowry, just a price tag on the marriage. Its like saying, well you pay me X amount of money, and I'll marry you. Don't women find that insulting?

I personally think that there is absolutely no need for a dowry, and those types of practices should not be continued.

Dowry giving is a ancient practise followed in India. The woman's parents gives dowry to the boys house, so that she will be enjoying her stay in her husband's house. What began as a willing attitude changed into a compulsory one leading to many cases of torture for the women.
The men also remain silent bcos nobody is against for getting something free.
I sincerely feel that this should change in the future days to come.....
