Sonakshi gets romantic with Chulbul Pandey

In Dabangg, their romance started with a dialogue around ‘thappad’. However for the film’s sequel, Sonakshi Sinha and her ‘Chulbul Pandey’ have definitely moved on. Since she and Salman are shown as a married couple in the film, there are numerous romantic elements that have been incorporated so as to make their relationship believable. “Salman was trying to woo Sonakshi in Dabangg. In the sequel there is some good ‘nok-jhonk’ between the two. After all, audience does expect some mischief from Salman. Though he can’t break into a ‘Tere Mast Mast Do Nain’ or ‘Dhinka Chika’ since that would look a little out of place, he does get romantic in his own way with Sonakshi”, informs a senior crew member from the sets of Dabangg 2.
In fact the duo recently shot for a romantic sequence as well though it was punched with straight faced humour, something which is a hallmark of ‘Chulbul Pandey’.
“‘Rajjo’ (the character played by Sonakshi) isn’t as demure and shy as before. She understands her husband’s ways and comes on her own now. She is not a boring housewife either; there is a lot of spunk in her character”, the crew member adds.
This also means that for the first time in her career, Sonakshi would actually share some romantic moments with her co-star. After all she was hardly there in Dabangg while Rowdy Rathore was an out and out action affair where Akshay dominated the proceedings. Moreover her upcoming release Joker is an adventure affair which means romance can be more or less ruled out.
“Well, of course her characterization has gone through a change in Dabangg 2, she is married after all”, smiles Arbaaz Khan who is directing the duo, “Having said that, there is romance in her marriage. Since they are in a new time, space and home, enough scenarios have been created to establish their chemistry.”
Well, there haven’t been many instances in the past where a married leading lady has actually bagged anything more than a semi-decent part. However, if Sonakshi manages to do that in Dabangg 2 and that too when it is expected to be an out and out Salman show, it would indeed be an achievement no less.
