Much has been said and written about Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s apparent inability to shed her pregnancy weight post giving birth to Aaradhya more than a year ago. Photographs of her at an event last year with what looked suspiciously like a double chin kicked off a media blitzkrieg with accusations against Aishwarya Rai Bachchan of even ‘betraying her country’.
Perhaps her make-up was a bit garish and her hair worn wrong. But the damage to her carefully orchestrated image was already done.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan then did what women across the world do often to usher in a major change in their lives. She simply went for a haircut.
And so did Kate Middleton when she discovered she was pregnant. The context similar, the timing months apart.
And suddenly the Junior Mrs Bachchan is back to doing what she does best – showing off her good looks while flashing the perfect smile. After all, on this matter she’s had the last laugh.
