Why Taapsee and not Lakshmi Rai?

After a successful sequel to Muni, the lead pair of Kanchana, Raghava Lawrence and Lakshmi Rai was expected to get back together for Muni 3. But, as a surprise package, Taapsee stepped in and Lakshmi Rai wasn’t part of the ensemble. Talking about this the Mankatha actress said that there wasn’t any plan of joining together with Lawrence in Muni 3. “The expectation was created by media and my fans are now disappointed as they will not get to see me in the film”, said Lakshmi Rai. She also suggested that it is up to the director to choose his actors and that maybe Lawrence would have thought Taapsee as a better choice for the script.
