Shah Rukh-Parineeti, Salman-Anushka: odd couples we’d like to see

While we’re thrilled at talk of Sridevi reuniting with former heroes Kamal Haasan and Anil Kapoor, we can’t help but wonder what it would be like to see some unusual suspects on-screen together. So, just because it was Valentine’s Day yesterday, we allowed our imaginations to run wild and match-make for some of the biggest Bollywood stars. We may not ever see these couples on screen anytime soon but maybe, just maybe, we’ll get some filmmakers thinking. Katrina Kaif – Sushant Singh Rajput
She’s the Kat who’s got all the cream and he’s the small screen star whose debut film Kai Po Che already has him flying high. It would be fun to see Kat, beloved of the 40-plus actor brigade, with young blood like Sushant. Shah Rukh Khan – Parineeti Chopra
He’s the “king of romance” and she is B-Town’s current Miss Spontaneity. Some even say she’s Bollywood’s new Kajol. So it certainly would be a treat to see SRK play Ishaqzaade to Parineeti Chopra in a film which could hardly be in Darr of morphing into a flop onscreen.
Anushka Sharma – Salman Khan
Live a little dangerously, Anushka. She had a literal match made in heaven with Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi opposite SRK followed by Jab Tak Hai Jaan. Will she be brave enough to take a chance with Salman, considering Katrina Kaif was Dabangg enough to finally play leading lady to SRK last year?
Aamir Khan – Deepika Padukone
He is known to pick his leading ladies with care. She, on the other hand, has a Cocktail of big budget films to her credit so. We would just love to see Aamir twirl Deepika out of her comfort zone even if some standing on tiptoe is required.
So we have a whole mix and match set of Bollywood’s old school and new school. Mix it up, we say.
