BS-MS course at IISERS

Applications have been invited for admission to the five-year BS-MS dual-degree programme at the Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISERs) in Thiruvananthapuram, Pune, Mohali, Bhopal and Kolkata for the academic session beginning August. Apply online on IISER Admission 2013.

For admissions, any one of the following qualifications is required.

Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yogana basic science stream: students who have qualified in SA (2011), SX (2012), SB (2012) or SP (passed class XII in 2012/13). The last date for submitting application is July 3. Counselling will be held on July 8. The last date to pay admission fee is July 16.

Joint Entrance Examination (Advanced): students obtaining a minimum aggregate of 60 per cent marks (55 per cent for those belonging to the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes and the physically challenged) in Class 12 and a place on the rank list of the entrance examination. Apply online from June 26 to July 3. Counselling will be held on July 8. The last date to pay admission fee is July 16.

State and Central Board students who have passed Class 12 in 2012 with high marks or appearing for the examination in 2013 in the science stream. The Department of Science and Technology of the Union government has fixed the cut-off marks required for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe candidates as 55 per cent in Class 12. In this category, the applicants should appear and qualify in the IISER Aptitude Test. Apply online till July 8. Counselling will be held on July 20. The last date to pay admission fee is July 29. The application fee is Rs. 600 (Rs. 300 for those belonging to the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes).

JIPMER test

The Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER), Puducherry, has invited applications for an entrance examination to be held on July 28 for admission to the following courses.

B.Sc. Nursing (75 seats); Medical Lab Technology (30); and Cardiac Laboratory Technology; Dialysis Technology, Neuro Technology, Nuclear Medicine Technology, Operations Theatre Technology, Perfusion Technology and Radiotherapy Technology (four each).

M.Sc. Nursing with specialisations in Child Health, Community Health, Medical Surgical, Mental Health, and Obstetrics and Gynaecology (five seats each).

M.Sc. Medical Biochemistry (nine seats) and MLT Microbiology, Cytopathology and Medical Physiology (four each).

Apply online on JIPMER | Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research. Prospectus containing instructions can be had from the website. The hard copy of the online application, along with documents, should be sent to the Registrar (Academic), JIPMER, Puducherry – 605 006 so as to reach there on or before July 11.

A candidate can apply for a maximum of two M.Sc. courses. A single application alone needs to be submitted.
