Log into your admin account and then into the admin area. Then select permissions under the forum admin section, Choose the forum from the drop down box and click the lookup forum button, If you're in simple mode click the advanced mode link, then you can set who can view, reply, etc...
Yea -- we finally figured that out.
Thanks for your help.
Thanks, your post was very helpful.Quote:

what im aiming to do is create the forum for an online game alliance so i do not wish anybody to be able to view the forum. I would like to be able to strictyl control who can view the forums.
simple. Create 1 public area where new people/potential recruits can post. Make every other section "Private[Hidden]" on the forum permissions(?) area of the admin page.
Then you can create a usergroup that has access to that section. Same basic principle as creating areas for only mods and admins.
thanks for this... it helps me alot..
I don't really want a private forum, but I want user's to register before they have access to view threads and post's... Is their any way to do this so they get access when the register but not as a guest... I want to avoid putting in userid's in a private group everytime someone joins..
Look in admin panel, then Configuration...there are lots of options in there.Quote:
