A question about Debian and stability

I recently installed Debian on an extra computer I had lying around which I just turned into a private game server. I was wondering if anyone has had any experience using it. I'm currently running Debian 40r3 for an AMD64 bit processor.

It seems to run smoothly, but I must say the "aptitude" tool comes really useful. By simply typing in "apt-get install <packagename>" it automatically downloads and installs programs, libraries, and compilers for me.

It was a breeze finding all the libraries I needed to compile the source code for my game server.

I was wondering though how well it compares to other Linux OS. Does anyone one know what some of the most stable ones are?
