Suriya opts out of Kandahar?

A few days back Major Ravi made a hue and cry that his proposed Mohanlal- Amitabh Bachchan film Kandahar in Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu will boast of a truly a major casting coup. He announced to the Kerala press that Suriya has agreed to play a commando in the film!

Kandahar is to be produced by Mohanlal’s own company Pranavam Arts and the entire production work was to be outsourced to his brother-in-law Suresh Balaji.

Remember, Suresh Balaji is one of the most successful freelance producers in Chennai who has made films like Yaavarum Nalam and Madurai Sambavam for Mumbai corporates.

Kandahar would have been the biggest action film in south if Suriya was a part of it. But now sources close to the development says Suriya has called up Mohanlal and explained his inability to do the project, as he has no dates.

Meanwhile Mohanlal is on the lookout for a saleable action hero in Tamil, as replacement for Suriya.
