New England captain Rio Ferdinand is ruled out of the world cup due to a knee injury. Ferdinand has been struggling in recent times with injuries and this one will rule him out of the biggest event. He got injured from a tackle by Emile Hesky during their training session. England will now have to choose their next captain for the world cup, and currently Steven Gerrard is leading the race.
