Director Ranjit bags Lohithadas Puraskaram

Malayalam superstar Mammootty will present the first Lohithadas Puraskaram, instituted by the Chalakudy based The Legends, to the director and screenplay writer Ranjit Sankar for the screenplay of his debut Malayalam film Passenger at a Lohithadas memorial night to be held at Chalakudy on June 27.

The award comprises a statuette embossed with the picture of Lohithadas and citation, award committee chairman and director Sibi Malayil told a press conference in Kochi on Friday.

K.P. Dhanapalan, MP; B.D. Devassy, MLA; municipal chairman M.N. Sasidharan; actors Innocent, Nedumudy Venu, Jayaram, Biju Menon, Mala Aravindan, K.P.A.C. Lalitha and Bindu Panicker; and filmmakers Kamal, Sathyan Anthikkad and Blessy will be present.
