Vivek becomes hero in Malayalam

Padma Shri Award winning Tamil comedy actor Vivek already enjoys immense fan following in Kerala thanks to all his Tamil films. He is now going to debut in Mollywood as a hero. The comedian will be playing the lead role in his first Malayalam film ‘Oru Nunakkatha’.

Vivek will be seen as a sub inspector in the state police department, who is a film buff. Under the banner of Ben Arts, Mathew Abraham will produce the movie and Johnson Thankachan is the director.

The 48-year-old comedian has earned the Filmfare Best Comedian Award for his performances in the films 'Sivaji', 'Saami', 'Run' and 'Perazhagan'. He was born in Kovilpatti, Tamil Nadu.

In 1987, the actor debuted with the film 'Manathil Uruthi Vendum'. The government of India honoured Vivek with Padma Shri award in April 2009 for his contribution to arts. He was also the recipient of Asianet's Special Jury Award in 2009.
