Veteran Malayalam actor Thilakan said that he is planning to apply for a gun license immediately in the backdrop of an attack against director Ali Akbar's car on Monday morning. The actor alleged that Ali Akbar was attacked because he decided to direct Achan with Thilakan in the lead.
The director's car, allegedly stoned by miscreants belonging to Kerala legislator K.B. Ganesh Kumar's party Kerala Congress (B), was badly damaged in the attack.
Thilakan also said that he would contest against Ganesh Kumar in the Assembly elections, if any party approaches him. “He (Kumar) has been scheming against me for long and I will take the fight into his camp,” Thilakan said.
Speaking to the media, Akbar said there is no doubt that the people behind the attack are activists of Kerala Congress (B) who had earlier said that they would not allow work on his film to be carried out. "When I woke up today (Monday) morning I found my Maruti van’s windscreen smashed,” said Akbar.
