Will Anandhapurathu Veedu save S Pictures?

S Pictures the banner that director Shankar created through sensitive super hits like Kadhal, Imsai Arasan 23am Pulikesi, Veyil, Kaloori is now going through a bad patch.

In the last two years, films produced by the banner have not being doing well at the box-office. Arai 305il Kadavul was a flop, next release Eeram just scraped through, thanks to its television rights. Then came Rettaichuzhi, one of the biggest flops of the year so far.

Now all eyes are on Anandhapurathu Veedu, directed by Naga and a supernatural thriller. The film is set in Nagercoil and revolves around an ancestral property, where ghosts reside. However director Naga says it is all about the film relationships and family. The film has Nanda and Chaya Singh in the lead, with music by Ramesh Krishna.

Shankar is hoping that the film will work for his banner, as they desperately need a hit. If the film fails the buzz is that Shankar will pull down the shutters, and stop production. Let us hopeAnandhapurathu Veedu, becomes a hit for the sake of S Pictures who have given us some of the finest films in recent times.
