Dileep to take on Prithviraj!

There has been undercurrent of tension between Dileep and Prithviraj, over the years.

After all, in the trade, Dileep is considered the next best option after Mammootty and Mohanlal.

Dileep's last release Papi Appacha, a comedy caper was a super hit. Now the star is all set to release his next comedy film Kariyasthan, his 100th film, in nearly 100 theatres on Diwali day.

The rise of Prithviraj as an action hero has not been liked by all other heroes in Malayalam film industry. The mind boggling opening of Anwar, has created an aura around Prithviraj.

Though the film took an opening, it fell and will be only an average grosser. Prithviraj if he has to go up the ladder has to not only get an opening but the movie should sustain.

Prithvi's detractors say he can't do comedy films which are safer bets in the long run. A section in the industry feels that comedy films have worked better in Kerala than action movies.

The big question being asked is whether Dileep and his Kariyasthan can better the opening of Anwar .
