Assisi Vidyaniketan Public School, Kakkanad, an offspring of Vidyaniketan Institutions, was established in June 1994 at Chembumukku to provide high standard of education to the children. Assisi has registered a phenomenal development since its inception in 1994. Having started with 277 students, we now have 1.962 students on the rolls inclusive of the Nursery Section. There are 142 staff both teaching and non-teaching. It is now a full-fledged Higher Secondary School affiliated to the C.B.S.E.

At Assisi our endeavour is to help the students to achieve academic excellence. However, this is only one and not the only aim. We envisage a value-based education with emphasis on moulding the personality of the students to create confident, competent and morally and socially mature individuals who will always be a credit to the society and the world they live in. The School encourages the students in both their academic and co-curricular pursuits as well as aims at moulding them into confident, efficient citizens capable of coping with practical and ideological situations in life. The Education provided aims at harmonious growth of physical, mental and spiritual aspects of the students' personalities.

ADMISSION
Applications are invited for admissions to lower Kindergarten on October/November and the other classes on March of the previous academic session. Application forms and prospectus are available on payment of a prescribed fee, from the School Office. Admissions of classes II upwards are decided on the basis of a written test conducted in the month of April every year.
