Ingredients
Red gram(Thuvaraparippu) - 1/2 cup
Tomato - 2 nos
Mustard seeds - A few
Cumin seeds(Jeerakam) - 1 tsp
Small onions(Kunjulli) - 6 nos
Garlic pods - 3 nos
Salt - As reqd
Curry leaves - A few
Coriander leaves - A few
Chilly powder - 1/4 tsp
Pepper - As reqd
Asafoetida(Kayam) - A pinch
Lemon juice - 1/2 tsp

Preparation Method of Kerala Tasty Rasam
1)Cook the dal.

2)Grind the tomatoes and add it to the cooked dal.

3)Heat oil in a pan.

4)Add mustard seeds and when they splutter, add cumin seeds and finely chopped onions and garlic.

5)Add this to the dal along with water and salt.

6)Allow it to boil.

7)Add chilly powder and pepper.

8)Cook till it reaches the desired consistency.

9)Add coriander leaves and curry leaves before removing from flame.

10)Add asafoetida and lime juice and mix well.
