Indian Appam recipe
The dish Appam is a very famous South Indian dish and the Appam recipe is here.
Ingredients:
1. Raw rice soaked for 4-5 hours - 2 cup(s)
2. Salt and sugar to taste
3. Coconut shavings - 4 cups
4. Cooked rice -1 cup
5. A pinch of yeast granules dissolved in some coconut water or little hot water
Making:
• Drain the soaked rice and grind it along with the coconut shavings
• Make the grinded mixture rice to a solid paste.
• Don’t add too much water for the mixture.
• If necessary to your need add yeast and mix lightly.
• Do add salt and sugar to taste.
• Allow the mixture to ferment at room temperature for at least 6 hours.
• Heat a small non-sticky pan. Pour some half a cup of grinded mixture and gently swirl the pan around in such a way that only a thin layer of the grinded mixture is covering the sides and a thick layer is collected at the bottom.
• Cover the pan with a lid on medium heat for about 2-3 mins.
• The dish is ready to taste.
