Markets open in the green

The sensitive index (Sensex) of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) opened at 9,128.99 points, higher than its 9,066.70-point close Monday. After about 10 minutes of trading, it was at 9,209.64 points, 1.58 percent or 142.94 points higher than its previous close.

At the same time, the S&P CNX Nifty index of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) was at 2,804.25 points, 1.36 percent higher than its previous close of 2,766.65.

The BSE midcap index was up 0.92 percent, while the BSE smallcap index was 0.78 percent higher than its previous close.
