Medical entrance results thursday

The Kerala Medical Entrance Results will be officially announced by the state Education Minister Abdu Rabb on 24th May 2012 at 4 pm, says a press release from the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations. Along with the medical entrance ranklist the the score list of engineering entrance exam also will be published. The results will be release by the minister at a function to be held at PR Chamber in the Secretariate. The results will be available in the websites cee.kerala.gov.in from 6pm on 24th May. The Examinations were held on 25th and 26th of April, 2012. In 2011, the top mark for Medical Entrance was 944.7887, followed by 934.5009 and 925.3741. The maximum mark in the Medical Entrance is 960. With the declaration of results, candidates and parents would certainly divert their calculations to the chances of allotments to the various courses coming under the purview of allotments by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations.

As per the Prospectus for admission to Professional Degree Courses, 2012 issued by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, Kerala, there are a total of 5019 seats in the Medical category. There are 900 MBBS seats in the 5 Government Medical Colleges while the 13 Self financing Medical Colleges included in the Prospectus, inclusive of the two Government Supported Medical Colleges, account for 1400 seats. For BDS, there are 140 seats in the three Government Dental Colleges while the 18 Self financing Dental Colleges will contribute 1060 BDS seats.
For other medical Courses, the seat availability is as follows.
BHMS-250 (5 Colleges); BAMS-810 (16); BSMS -50 (1); B.Sc Agriculture -209 (3); Forestry-30 (1); BVsc & AH- 120 (2); Fisheries-50 (1)
However, the figures in the MBBS and BDS category are likely to change with the reported inclusion of the Christian Professional Colleges too to the allotments of the CEE. However, clarity is yet to come on the conditions of allotments.
The marks secured by students in the Engineering Entrance are also being released the same day. However, the candidates would have wait for a few more weeks at least before their ranks could be known as the ranking takes into consideration the marks in the qualifying examination in the three related subjects, in addition to the marks in the entrance examinations. In 2011, the Engineering rank list was published on 10th July, 2011.
