Kannada stars go international

Kannada film stars Tara and Ananth Nag are going international. The duo have been shortlisted as the lead stars for the English film tentatively called The Bicycle , to be directed by international film maker David Michael Beaupre and produced by our very own Lokanath and Ashwini Shandilya.

"The story is based on a rural set-up near Bangalore. We will be shooting from October all the way to December. It is an interesting story, but we are not allowed to reveal more as of now," says Ananth Nag.

Tara has more on her plate. She is turning producer with a yet-to-be titled Kannada film which will be directed by Girish Kasaravalli.

"I will be acting in this film as well, but the rest of the star cast is yet to be finalised," she says. As far as the English film goes, Tara considers it an honour for a Kannada film star to be part of such an international venture.

Tara also happens to be doing a back to the past sort of role in the Kannada film Matta . "This film with Jageesh is going to recreate the charm of old Kannada films. The colours to costumes and even the way we will be acting will remind people of the good old days of cinema," she says.
