what are you all using? Mine has a simple design, but i used photshop. I have knowlege of both photoshop, and adobe illustrator.
I use both Paint Shop Pro 8, Photoshop CS
Never got to the point of using Illustrator
create a poll for u
thanks for the poll, ive only used illustrator in my graphic design classes, it seems to me it wouldnt really work online because it is a vecor based program, mainly used to make graphics then photoshop edits them.
I vote for Adobe Photoshop 7
tricky_linux, how is Photoshop 8 ? Never used it, How you compare it with version 7 ?
ah...
each version has their own goodies
but i like Photoshop CS just because it's the latest one
they said there is this two feature which you can reassemble pictures with difference size but all from the same picture to it's original state.
and another one is color changing
say there is a woman who is wearing red, with shadows and etc.
cs can change it to blue or whatever without lossing anything like shadow, curves and etc.
all these sounds good to me, but i never got to the point of actually using it
i heard a guy who is a graphics designer of some kind use all versions of photoshop, 6-cs for editing
he said everyone has there own unique feature, but i don't get it since i never used it for a long time.
captainsaneo~
illustrator should work just like photoshop does
don't know what you actually did, but you have to export the image to .jpg or other common format in order for the browser to display
you don't seem to have an option for 'the gimp' ...my favourite
ive tried that but it seems pretty difficult, but then again i didnt try and figure it out very long...
GIMP option is been added
i only used v.1 which was pretty difficult for me.
people said there is a big difference between version 2 and 1
don't know what do you use
I didn't use v1 very much, but there doesn't seem to be too many differences
What about Corel??
Xara Webstyle 4.0 is good Source :D
Corel option added
never used it, what is it like?
I normally use Photoshop, but I've also used the GIMP, Illustrator, and Macromedia Fireworks.
Coral Draw is a Vector Graphics program.
In Photo Shop, images are represented as pixels.
In Coal, its represented as Vectors (Macromedia Flash also represent objects as Vector).
I don't know much difference between Coral and Photoshop. Its mainly used for DTP. Brochure design, visiting card design, etc...
Correct me if i am wrong :D
haha...
i know what a vector is in Physics, but what about now?
will try out Corel soon
Yup adobe photoshop is the best, apparently adobe photoshop 8.0 creative suite is better for the photographer as it can enhance shadows on pictures you take (make it lighter so its visible) oh yer and then there is the fact that you can create warped text along paths :D very fun to do ive gotten A++ in all my art assignments becuase I use adobe 8.0 to its fullest capabilities. that and the fact ive taken so many tutorials I've lost count.
I sitll love photoshop the most!!
I guess I use more often Corel Draw than Photoshop (and others, Illutrator, Canvas). But that's not because corel is better or something, im just more used to it.
If you're asking about web design software, then I would say Photoshop all the way.
But for other purposes, I use Photoshop, Paint Shop Pro, CorelDraw, Flash.
ok, for those who don't know the difference between bitmap (raster) and vector graphics, here is the explanation:
Bitmaps or raster images are dependent on resolution. They are formed pixel by pixel. Hence given any bitmap image, if you try to enlarge it, it will appear distorted since it is resolution-dependent.
On the other hand, vector graphics are formed by lines and curves determined by mathematical functions......hence, when you draw an image in a vector software like Illustrator, CorelDraw or Flash, it is entirely formed of lines and curves.
Vectors are independent of resolution, hence if you scale their size, they will retain the original quality with hardly any loss (because everytime, the image is recalculated mathematically)
This is particularly useful when you are creating some image where you don't know what the final output size would be.
I'm using Photoshop CS and for Advertisment Corel Draw 11.
i am using macromedia firework ^^
it is pretty simple and easy to use..
but doesn't have great editing ability as photoshop though..
still good enough to me ^^
good men
but, I wanna ask u to give us some lessons in photoshop, macromedia fireworks.
by the way, I love this programs very very macth.
=^= softguide =^=
I used photoshop to create banners or some effects but for creating the website interfaces i use fireworks coz it takes less memory and works faster as well as its simpler to use than photoshop.
But photoshop is better in slicing images for website
I personally like paint shop. Its not as powerful as Photoshop or illustrator, but it is easy to use, and newer versiones have some powerful features.
I really like Photoshop, it's very easy too use and it can create very nice layouts, banners, signatures, avatars and stuff like that.
I use Photoshop CS (8.0) :D IT's a lot better than the Paint Shop Pro 8 version I used to use. It wouldn't save .jpg's without dithering it a lot. Photoshop gives you a choice on how much to dither the image. Anyways, I've used Photoshop CS and Paint Shop Pro 8 and comparing them....... PHOTOSHOP RULES!!!!!!!!!!!!:D :D :D
Photoshop is great, but something to remember about paintshop pro 8: it's only $100 USD. Photoshop CS Standard is likr $500. Both programs offer many of the same things, but PSP8 is 1/5 the price.Quote:

lol... hand code the graphics! :-P j/k I did vote for that but I am a photoshop guy myself. It's got alot of features and any $2k prog you can get for free has to be good :-P
I mostly use Adobe Photoshop for creating web grafics and Corel draw for vector graphics. I guess theese tools are the key progs in creating web site design :)
Photoshop CS mostly
i also use Macromedia Fireworks
mostly i uses Photoshop, followed by PhotoImpact
both have got different uses
Jasc Its Very Easy after Adobe :D
Photoshop CS. I have also bought a book for it.
i also buy my software and i am currently using Corel becouse i mainly need to work on vector graphics and designs, photoshop aprozimately the same price as corel but corel offers a lot more than 2d graphics, plus i'm not an expert in graphical design, more like a coder so corel works fine for me.
photoshop mainly. used to use fireworks for .png for my flashes.
Adobe imageready and photoshop, and for small works i use ifranview
u guys prolly havent heard of this, but i use blender 3d most of the time
i admit that when it comes to making images w/ text in them, blender doesnt work the best but other than that its pretty good. if you want to try it out goto http://www.blender3d.org
also..
when it does come to text, i use web canvas (80 bucks or so) and it works really well
i've started using photoshop last year...
and yet this software is a lot better than fireworks....
I'm using Fireworks MX, which is great for pictures and web design. Had used Photoshop before but it just take longer to do simple stuff compared to Fireworks.
Guys, any place for free plugins and effects for photoshop? I started using photoshop again after a long gap in which I upgraded my comp etc etc. Now I have only photoshop and no plugins. Any free sites?
