Yes, i too support Lynx :-)
World's fastest, smallest and secure browser.
But it support onlt TEXT. When you add more support, there will be more security holes. IE have more security hole as its not just a browser and more popular than other browsers.

I prefer firefox over mozilla. Firefox is light, fast and secure too. In our college, we have many diskless nodes running on LTSP (Linux Terminal Server Project) and we use firefox as the browser on those machines. That show how light it is. Lynx on the other hand, have one disadvantage. It can only display text.

firefox advantages for me =]
1. you can have tabbed windows
2. automated pop up block
firefox DIS-advantages
1. doesnt support xanga.com
2.messes up quite a bit
i'd stick with both just don't make mozilla your default.

of course if you are trying to maximize security no matter the cost, then a text only browser is the way to go. Of course many find that too radical of a browser to use in daily life, so they find other alternatives such as firefox, mozilla and Opera.
And I'll say it again. People use IE for 2 reasons:
the standard user: it comes with their OS. No da.
the experienced user: it is the most compatible browser (ie most if not all scripts are written to support IE). they say it's good to have when you really need it, though there are other better ones.

^ yes mad boy is correct IE supports all scripts while fire fox supports some images and texts.

firefox is the answer to ost people problems with IE. so much so that even the new york times is reporting Firefox's increase in market stake which now stands at 5% or so. IE has a market stake at around 89% and not 99% ;)
the code is cleaner and much more efficient. but then all ope source projects are compared to ms apps !!
cheers all !

it might have some of the problems but a lot of the images don't show up and it messes up some blog sites.

i find firefox to be better too.
you can have several tabs in 1 window, which helps ur start bar to not be uncluttered
you can set your own bookmarks as links on the actual browser
and the icon is way cooler :D

ive had firefox for probably 5 months and i told everyone i know about it and they love it too. its way better than IE.

anyone knows a downloader which can integrate into firefox?,
right now i follow a long cut of copying a link and pasting it into DAP. it would be nice if it could auto start some downloading application (with resume support).
