I love english, Why we need so many langauges ?
I would rather just speak spanish myself haha. no seriously, if you grow up learning any language it is always much easier than having to learn another. i wish that i could be fluent in all languages so the world would be totally open for me.
That's right, i have studied few other languages than my mother tongue, but it take time and efforts. To remove barriers, we need a common language or develop more powerfully language tools.
English is sometimes confusing.
Some words are not pronounced the way they should (or look).
But i am getting a hold of the language after 10 years. 0_0
It is a good thing that most countries are now considering English as a subject in their education system.
as a foreign language I learnt English just beacause it is International language and i think it was easy . now i decided to learn French which some people says it is DIFFICULT . but i like this language and from my view it is not difficult.
The fact is there are more irregular verbs (that must be learnt individually hence making it very difficlut) in English than any other language except from chinese.
Being British I (obviously) find it very easy, but despite nearly half a century using it and viewing my own English language skills very highly I still make mistakes.
And then, what about 13375p34k (leetspeak), the language used by computer geeks and gamers across the globe just to further confuse matters?
English is hard, especially on the net and well done to all who use this as an alternate language.
My own answer when in foreign climes and faced with a non - english speakers is simply to repeat what I have said, but slower and louder in deferance to thousands of years of tradition. Never fails.
(lol, joke, I can speak French and Spanish at schoolboy level :P)

In some ways i think it is easy and in other I don't.

I prefer Bad English myself. Im up here in the Hills of Tennesse now. I'm kidding you about this I was scared. Goto the local Wendy's and order a mandarian chicken salad right. well everyone up here pronounces it " Man Darian " salad like u have to milk a man or something to make the salad. >< its crazy, that and instead of Tomato or Potato, its Mater and Tater.

In what other language do people drive in a parkway and park in a driveway?
In what other language do people play at a recital and recite at a play?
Why does night fall but never break and day break but never fall?
Why is it that when we transport something by car, it's called a shipment, but when we transport something by ship, it's called cargo?
Why do we pack suits in a garment bag and garments in a suitcase?
Why do we call it newsprint when it contains no printing but when we put print on it, we call it a newspaper?
Why are people who ride motorcycles called bikers and people who ride bikes called cyclists?
Why -- in our crazy language -- can your nose run and your feet smell?
