i had just finished my site and was asking if i can make money from it ?

i mean something like announcements

First you need Hits, that is visitors.

If you have visitors, you need to find sitable ads for your web site. It depends on what type of visitors you have. Some programs you can try is

Also try selling ads to local market. If you have site related to eduction, contact local educational institutes. If your site is related to gaming, try affliate programs of some games.

That google adsense or whatever it's called (The one on this site too) does google pay per click or per how many people actually buy some product from that site?

google is the best ads to look into.

yes they do provide everything they claim to.. well as far as i'm concerned they do..they did me at 10posts and 50

and they also do it pretty darn quickly..

if you request bandwidth before 5pm you're almost guaranteed to have it by the end of the evening..nokia seems to upgrade quite regularly at about 9pm

I rely on Google ads...just go to the site google.com and click on something about Ad Sense...there are two diffrent ways either you pay them, or they pay you...They pay you whenever someone clicks their ad from your site..I think it is very reliable since it is already from google and alot of people are using it, plus you don't have to release or pay any money at all...I hope that helps!

How many hits do you get a day? I get around 150 a day and get 2 dollars a month, which sux. There are some companies which give you money for not hits, but only having their banner their. It is a good way to make money on the side. I still think you can't make a living out of a personal site, until you got 10 banners, 2 pop ups and a few other things. You can have a huge community like suprnova, but they still went down. So, hmm.
