I really loved Halo, but I didn't like the story much- sort of a merging of Alien and Half-Life. And seeing as the butchering of Halo that was Halo 2, I don't think Bungie would do a very good job.
butchering??
what are you on about!
HALO2 is great
you shouldn't let the rubbish ending and shortness get in the way of the fact that the gameplay is some of the best around!
multiplayer and co-op kicks ass.
as for the film, i don't think they should make it.. it would suck. unless it was done in the well polished game graphics and used all the original voice talent.
seeing some crap american actor in a green metal suit would be awful, and as for the aliens i bet they'd suck ass.
No i don't think they should make a movie of Halo. Films based on games tend to suck alot so better not to :)
IMO, Halo 2 is graphically better, and the features are better. I do however prefer playing Halo. Halo 2 brings some new features, but that's it. The story in Halo 2 is a bit rubbish!!

if they made a halo movie, id DEFIANTELY go see that.
heh that'd be awsome.
I thought I heard about a Halo movie. Well read this - http://filmforce.ign.com/articles/57...html?fromint=1
I wouldn't mind seeing a halo movie, but the overall story of Halo really isn't anything new. In fact the only thing I really see different in the story is the actual ring.
if you want to see halo movie, then maybe you can try this first, they made some interesting videos with halo

I personally have never played Halo (ps2 boy), but i know my friend reackons Halo 1 was better than Halo 2. I wouldn't mind a gta movie, they could make a few actually, just follow the games plots, that'd be awesome i reackon
Seriously, they haven't released a decent flick since Saving Private Ryan, the majority of their garbage being Politically Correct junk, or some "Romantic Comedy" that's so rediculously immature and unfunny that I feel like I've violated my eyes just by watching the first half hour.
Concerning videogames, virtually all directors, Hollywood or Independent, can't make anything worth owning on DVD. Both Tomb Raider movies sucked, both Resident Evils sucked, Final Fantasy (who's plot was about as removed from the games as you could get) was a good-looking, computer-generated tribute to some vague spiritist philosophy that made most of my educated friends laugh themselves to death at it's sheer idiocy, and most of the Game-based movies made in the years to come will probably consist primarily of lots of unrealistic/ultraviolent action coupled with crappy acting and stupid/boring stories.
If they ever turn Halo into a movie, I won't go see it, because I know exactly what will happen. Chief will be pretty much the same, they'll turn Cortana into a cyber-bimbo, making her current incarnation look like an innocent school girl. The Covenant may or may not speak English, and will be portrayed as barbarous monsters at first, then, just a little before midway through, we'll see things from their side, and discover that they, or at least a faction of them, really aren't all that bad, and are just misunderstood, and need some compassion and understanding. After that, I can't say I can tell, but rest assured that the movie will essentially deficate all over everything the games built the franchise up to be. Ok, it may not be exactly like that, but this is all based on the recent trends I've observed emerging in Hollywood flicks.
Funny thing is, the games already do a damned good job of being viewer-immersive movies, so I don't think it'd be necessary for Hollywood to go and turn it into a disappointing piece of garbage with too many obvious computer graphics and crappy actors.
Money will ruin it, most certainly.
Final Fantasy the movie had really nothing to do with Final Fantasy Games, but I think I will like the anime Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children wich is the film of what by most is considered to be THE best Final Fantasy game ever(including me).
since there are figures there should be a movie
I don't think that there must be an movie about Halo. Tomb raider was funny but not more. I think that games stay games. Making an game from the movie is different.
Are you truly considering that they should even create a Halo movie? I mean, Halo is an excellent game, hands-down. I've played it over 200 hours, probably, by now and there is still replayibility in the game because of the fact that it in a First Person Shooter which can put you against so many people whom you can fight to gain a station among others. The game is a mindless game of action, and the story also lacks depth being repetitve itself: "Oh, dear, Halo is going to destroy the universe!"...Second game: "Oh dear, not again...Halo is going to destroy the universe!".
A movie would simply ruin the franchise and create another mindless, depthless, storyline that would only rake money from fans, which I might add is probably economical but stupid when it comes to the actual quality of the film.
I've heard they are making a halo movie
Oh dear god. There goes the franchise. I'll look into it myself.
I've never played Halo, but I know people who do and love it. I've heard alot about it and would love to play one day.
I've played a bit of Halo. It was pretty fun, but I'm not much of a gamer, so I didn't get that much into it. If they made a movie, my response would be the same as my response to every other video game movie: yawn.
I think definitely yes !! I would like to see more of the outdoor scenes than the indoor ones though. That game really rocks when you get to drive the jeep (or whatever they called it). I loved running over the aliens....that would make for great movie scene.
Having a movie made from a game will be worse than a game made from a movie. They are two different types of generes that only get sales from fans that like one and think the other will be good aswell.
I dunno, Halo wasn't really my type of game for many reasons. Certain guns annoy me, shields can be too strong, constant low gravity, being able to see enemies on the minimap. A variety of things you don't get in Counter-Strike! =D
A Halo movie would fail miserably. They would probably want to do it all as CGI and the story has many great failings. All it would really be is watching MC do some neat tricks in levels that you have already played causing an annoying sort of repititious feel. Besides if that happened, it would encourage Bungie to make more games and no one here wants that.
Halo and movie .....
Yes i'd love to see a movie on Halo , but i Think the storyline shouldnt be the one from the game , it wouldnt be a nice plot would it ...
cheers
