Sebastian Vettel wins Spanish Grand Prix
BARCELONA: Force India drivers Paul di Resta and Adrian Sutil improved upon their qualifying performance but finished outside the points bracket at 12th and 13th position in the Formula One Spanish Grand Prix here Sunday.
Red Bull's Sebastian Vettel (1:39:03.301) won the race after a neck-and-neck battle with McLaren's Lewis Hamilton right till the chequered flag. Hamilton was left behind by only 0.6 seconds, followed by McLaren of Jenson Button in the third position. Vettel's teammate Mark Webber finished a disappointing fourth from his maiden pole of the season. Reigning champion Vettel has now won four out of five races in the season so far.
India's Narain Karthikeyan in his Hispania was the slowest of the 21 drivers and managed to complete the 66-lap race at the 4.6 km Circuit de Catalunya race track. His team mate Vitantonio Liuzzi retired after 38 laps.
For third straight race, Force India failed to secure a point. The team did not use the new aero package that they brought here but drivers di Resta and Sutil were confident of a good show after being 16th and 17th fastest in the qualifying Saturday. Rookie di Resta, however, was again quicker than the experienced Sutil, who came to the race after a tumultuous week with Renault Owner Eric Lux deciding to file a criminal complaint against him for alleged physical assault at a Shanghai pub.
Force India remain eighth in the constructors championship with four points they earned in Australia and Malaysia.
